SALMAN AND AISHA

(BRITISH MUSLIM TV)

ABOUT

'Salman and Aisha' is a children's animated TV series, written, produced and directed by Gareth Gough for British Muslim TV. We follow brother and sister, Salman and Aisha as they navigate their journey of discovery, and their imaginations. Each episode is founded on the teachings of the Hadith (a collection of traditions), with a strong family focus, as a fun, engaging and educational tool for children. This was the first animated TV series Gareth created, after recognising there were few TV shows with a target audience specifically of muslim children, which matched the quality of engaging content of mainstream children's animated shows. Two series' were produced, each with 12 episodes at 5 minutes long.

CHARACTER DESIGN

The designs have a fun, bold aesthetic with rounded personalities that are relatable to the target audience, whilst maintaining a level of simplicity for fast paced animation production.

BACKGROUND DESIGN

Through clever story-telling, the contrast in worlds from the imagination sequences and the more relatable home life of Salman and Aisha, provides a rich and interesting experience for the audience. The visuals are bold, engaging and textural.
